Parade Etiquette
NO throwing of candy
or any other objects at any time during the parade. This results
in children running out into the road near the wheels of the
floats. We do NOT want any child injured or worse during
this enjoyable event. If at any time during the parade the Flag
Day Committee members witness this, your organization will not be
invited back for next year. Have one or two people march with you
and hand out the candy.
Keep the Parade moving! DO
NOT stop to perform along the route once you have
started to march. This causes gaps, and empty spaces. The
reviewing stand has an announcer that must try to explain to the
crowd what is happening, and this is not enjoyable to the people
that are kept waiting in the crowd down the street or the
marchers stopped and waiting behind you. Please keep
moving with no gaps.
Show respect for the spirit
of the event. Celebrate the Flag, Community Spirit, and
volunteerism. Please keep any and all Political, Spiritual, and
Personal opinions for appropriate events.
Respect the Flag Day
Committee Members. They work hard all year long to coordinate
this event, if you see something that is wrong, disagree with
something or someone, or feel something needs to change for next
year, join the committee, voice your comment then, we welcome
your attendance at our meetings.
Thank you for your cooperation and participation.
