SONGS THAT WON THE WAR DEBUT

CHICOPEE, MA - April 5, 2001 - "Songs that Won The War", a tribute to the great melodies of WW II featuring the songs of The Andrew Sisters, Ethel Merman, Kate Smith and Dick Haymes and the comedy of Jimmy Durante and George Burns.

Master of Ceremonies, Frank Pisani propels the shows as each performer weaves their way through medleys of songs that inspired a Nation to Victory. Frank's performance of Jimmy Durante and George Burns routines is superb. He created the character "Uncle Marco," a vehicle he uses to bring to life the comedy of his Italian roots. Frank is the recipient of the Chicago Music Award "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his contributions to the performing arts industry and to a variety of humanity causes he champions.

The Andrew Sisters routine is an astrounding replication of the famous heard on "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" - "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree" - "Shoo Shoo Baby" - and " I'll Be With You in Apple Blossom Time". The 1940's Swing Quartet under the derection of Paul Couch provides the music that breathes swing into the show and is featured on a medley of Glenn Miller hits including "American Patrol", "String of Perals", "Tuxedo Junction" and " The St. Louis Blues Swing" which highlights some incredibles drum solos. Al Bruno, an extraordinary tenor, protrays a USO Navy entertainer singing his way through a collection of hit songs of the era.

From "White Cliffs of Dover" to Inka Dinka Do" the audience re-lives the great memories of the 40's while reminiscing to Kate Smith's "God Bless America" and "When the Moon Comes Over The Mountain" This is a show which frequently brings to an aunience both a smile and a tear as they relive one of the most memorable times in history.
