"Strictly Medjugorje" has a low cost, no-frills pilgrimage, going with no more then 20 pilgrims with a minimum of 10 pilgrims. Pilgrims stay at one of the finest Guest Hotels in the Village of Medjugorje, only 150yds. from St. James Parish. Everything is within walking distance. Sometimes people just want to sit and pray the Rosary or walk down to the Church and pray in different spots that are available to each pilgrim.

To insure a more Spiritual pilgrimage, we will only be taking side trips to hear visionaries speak and to Siroki Breige to hear Fr. Jozo speak. A group Rosary will also be said every night together before retiring to bed, this will insure a more peaceful, spiritual group.
On June 25th, 1981 in Medjugorje, a small village of Herzegovina, 6 youngsters affirmed that they had seen a beautiful young girl who introduced herself as the Blessed Virgin Mary "Queen of Peace". Since then, up till now, each evening at sunset, 3 of them have an appointment with the Virgin Mary of Nazareth. She speaks with them, she gives messages concerning them personally and others to transmit to the whole of humanity.
Our Lady of Suffrage, Mother of Mercy will be sponsoring a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in October, 2009, God Willing.., .we keep our group small and make sure that the pilgrim has time to spend on their own as well as with the group..we encourage our pilgrims to go out and explore the sites associated with the apparitions..climbing both mountains, visiting Fr. Slavko's gravesite and praying at the site of the "Risen Christ" are just a few recommendations. While there we stay at Martin's Guest Hotel which is 150 yds. from St. James parish within walking distance to everything.

What The Year Of The Priest Means to Rev. Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi

Pope Benedict XVI's Letter Proclaiming a Year for Priests (June 19, 2009 to June 19, 2010) coincides with the 150th anniversary of the death of St. John Mary Vianney (1859); it follows the Pauline Year and the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of Lourdes (1858)
These three historical events find a common thread in the Pontiff's exhortation to all priests to establish a deep and personal "identification" with Christ the high Priest through a life of A) "evangelical counsels" (chastity, poverty and obedience), of B) tireless devotion to preaching, C) to the administration of Sacraments of the "Eucharist " and "Penance," and of D) filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Immaculate Conception.
As Ss. Paul and John Vianney exemplified these four characteristics, so too may all priests.
The Pontiff Affirms:
"The first thing we (priests) need to learn is the complete identification of the man with his ministry. In Jesus, person and mission tend to coincide: all Christ's saving activity was, and is, an expression of his "filial consciousness" which from all eternity stands before the Father in an attitude of loving submission to his will. In a humble and genuine way, every priest must aim for a similar identification."
Of the many points the pontiff illustrates; I wish to emphasize the manner in which the priest perfects his "identification with his ministry." As the pontiff relates, the priest and his ministry discover their convergence in the person of Jesus Christ. Many mystics of the Church refer to this identification of the priest as a "mystical transformation" into Jesus Christ.
Jeuss reveals in the approved works of the Mexican mystic Venerable Conchita Armida:
"I want to return to the world in My priests, I want to renew the world of souls and I myself want to be of use in My Priests in doing it; I want to give a powerful impetus to My Church and to infuse, as in a New Pentecost, the Holy Spirit in My priests. In them I want to work, speak, love and make myself tangible in souls...to renew the face of the earth through a worldwide and irresistible impetus with My priests....
This is now My ideal: to transform the world through the perfect transformation of the priests into (Me) the great Priest...The great influence for hastening this...is...the Holy Spirit through Mary...For this reason, Mary has a great deal of concern for priests...conceived within Me in her virgin womb. Priests ought to be like a reflection of Mary: mothers, carrying in their souls the mystical incarnation of the Word...The vocation... of My priests was conceived, like the Word was in Mary...(To My Priests, Archangel Crusade of Love, Cleveland, Oh 1996, pp. 84-45).
The dignity of the priesthood thus derives from the eternal Word's love for humankind, engendered in the womb of the immaculate Virgin Mary and consummated in their transformation into Jesus Christ the great Priest. Is it any wonder then for St. John Mary Vianney to exclaim: "After God, the priest in everything!...Only in heaven will he fully realized what he is."
Because Jesus' priestly ministry consisted first and foremost in "doing the Will of My heavenly Father," all priests are called to live in the Father's Will, not solely by their own efforts, but through, with and in the Will of Jesus Christ. St. John Mary Vianney again affirms: "There are no two good ways of serving God. There is only one: serve him as he desires to be served... As the Word of God desired to serve the Will of the heavenly father in the total offering of Self, likewise all priests strive to serve the Will of the Father through the eternal activity of the Word. Let us recall the pontiff's words: "All Christ's saving activity was, and is, an expression of his filial consciousness which from all eternity stands before the Father in an attitude of loving submission to his will."
While all priests are called to identify with and transform themselves into Jesus Christ the great Priest who unceasingly lived in the Will of his heavenly Father, their response to his call is nonetheless aided by the generous outpouring of prayers on the part of the laity. If the Year of Priests is a call to transformation into Christ, it is also an appeal to the laity to sustain their shepherds by an outpouring of prayers on their behalf.

COMMENTARY
I met Fr. Iannuzzi last September at our first Spiritual Warfare Conference, he is a very educated accomplished man and priest. Fr. Iannuzzi is an Exorcist in the diocese of Michigan, and was once associate to Vatican Exorcist Fr. Gabriel Amorth..he is also an accomplished writer, author, speaker, musician and wrestler..he is initiator of the Missionaries of the Holy Trinity Community devoted to the advancement of the Church's mystical tradition and to the proper theological presentation of the mystical gift of Living in God's Divine Will.
Fr. Joseph is noted for his great humility, his soft spoken articulate way of speaking moves me the most..he is articulate in all he does and it shows..we loved his presentations last Sept. of Living in the Divine Will to which he is working for the cause of the beatification of Luisa Piccarata whose writings about living in the Divine Will are very well known and followed.
Fr. Iannuzzi's humor and deep love for Our Blessed Mother is the part of his make-up that makes me so happy to be a friend of his and on behalf of Our Lady of Suffrage, Mother of Mercy, we look very forward to seeing him again this Sept. at our Part II Spiritual Warfare Conference..

TAKE A LOOK AT WHO YOU ARE POPE TELLS PRIESTS

Priests need to take a good look at their identity, says Benedict XVI, and he offered the example of St. John Vianney and the Year for Priests as an opportunity for this examination.
The Pope took up again today during the general audience the theme of the Year for Priests, udner way since the feast of the Sacred Heart, June 19th. He spoke about how important it is for priests to understand their identity and their mission.
He pointed to St. John Vianney, patron Saint of parish priests and model for this jubilee year, noting that "what shines forth in the existence of this humble minister of the Altar (is) the complete identification of the man with his ministry."
It is fundamentally important for a priest to grow in progressive identification with Christ, the Holy Father explained, saying this "will guarantee him fidelity and fruitfulness in the evangelical testimony."
It is the priest's awareness of his "new being," which is fundamental to his mission, he added.
"The priest's renewed enthusiasm for his mission will always depend on the certainty of his personal identity, which is not artificially constructed, but rather given and received freely and divinely," the Pontiff explained. "What I have written in the encyclical Deus Caritas Est." is also true for priests: ":being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gtives life a new horizon and a decisive direction."
"Having received such an extraordinary gift of grace with their "consecration," priests become permanent witnesses of their encounter with Christ. Beginning precisely from this interior awareness, they can plentifully fulfill their "mission," by means of the proclamation of the Word and the administration of the sacrament's. Jesus sends the apostles, at that time and now, to proclaim the Gospel and he gives them the power to cast out evil spirits, "Proclamation" and "power," that is to say "word" and "sacrament." are therefore the two foundational pillars of priestly service, beyond its many possible configurations."
ESTABLISHED TO SERVICE
However, Benedict XVI, observed, without taking into account the " "consecration-mission" of the priest, "it becomes truly difficult to understand the identity of the priest and his ministry to the Church."
"Who in fact is the priest?" if not a man converted and renewed by the Spirit, who lives from a personal relationship with Christ, constantly making the Gospel criteria his own," the Pope asked. "Who is the priest, if not a man of unity and truth, aware of his own limits and at the same time, of the extraordinary greatness of the vocation he has received, that of helping to extend the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.!
"Yes! The priest is a man totally belonging to the Lord, because it is God himself who calls him and who establishes him in his apostolic service. And precisely being totally of God, he totally of mankind, for all people."
thus, the Holy father invited the faithful to take advantage of the jubilee and pray for all priests and for priestly vocations.
He encouraged the multiplying of prayer initiatives and also "opportunities for silence and listening to the Word, and better attention to spiritual direction and the sacrament of confession, so that the voice of God, who always continues calling and confirming, can be heard and promptly followed by many youth."
"One who prays is not afraid; one who prays is never alone; one who prays is saved.", the Bishop of Rome concluded. "St. John Vianney is undoubtedly a model of an existence made prayer. Mary, Mother of the Church, help all priests to follow his example so as to be, like him, witnesses of Christ and apostles of the Gospel."
